WHAT IS THE LAWYER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM?
The Lawyer Assistance Program (LAP) was formed to help lawyers in need in Suffolk County, NY. This program was made possible in part by a grant from The New York Bar Foundation.

The Lawyer Assistance Program currently provides a range of services to lawyers, judges, law students, and their immediate family members who are struggling with alcohol or drug abuse, depression, anxiety, stress, as well as other addictions and mental health issues. Services are free and strictly confidential via Section 499 of the Judiciary Law and the Rule of Professional Conduct.

- Supportive Counseling
- Weekly Recovery Support Group
- Annual 12-Step Retreat
- Wellness Workshops
- Intervention and Motivational Support
- Treatment Referrals
- Manage Caseload in the Event of Death
